Android 5.0 Lollipop is the biggest overhaul to the platform since... well ever. It brought with its sweeping visual changes thanks to Material Design and also delved under the hood with a myriad of enhancements to everything from basic functionality to security. However, new software usually has its little bugs and foibles, just ask Apple with iOS 8.
It's a similar scenario with Lollipop, really such a massive change was going to provide some teething problems. The latest build of Lollipop, Android 5.0.1 is now getting some wrath from users because it has a pretty serious issue with leaking memory. Most are reporting that the leak takes over 1.3GB of RAM (not good if your device has less) and is forcing apps to close and bump back to the home screen.
It also seems that this is widespread and is not just affecting one device or model, with several Nexus devices already afflicted. Of course, Google is probably rushing to prepare an update to solve the problem right now, so I doubt this will be a long term issue. Are you experiencing this on your device?
