Apple and Reliance are getting ready to sell the new iPhone 6 as well as its larger cousin as part of a zero down-payment option clubbed with EMI. According to a previous report which insisted that the tech giant wasn’t keen on such a move, there were hints that it would revisit this decision by the first quarter of 2015.
A similar move was made last year too, which saw Reliance vending the 2013 Apple smartphone models without any initial upfront cost. Going by a recent leak spotted by the folks at Telecom Talk, customers will be able to buy the iPhone 6 by coughing up Rs 3099 per month over a span of two years.
The iPhone 6 Plus is expected to be available at zero down-payment for Rs 3599 a month, on a two-year plan basis. Along with this, Reliance could offer unlimited data, messaging, voice and roaming. There’s mention about ‘zero bills’ for two years, possibly implying that these charges will be included in the monthly payments.
The Apple iPhone 6 was released in India in October this year. The 4.7-inch handset carries a starting price for Rs 53500 for 16GB. It’s Rs 71500 and Rs 62500 for the 128GB and 64GB capacities, respectively. The 5.5-inch device will ask you to pony up Rs 62500, Rs 71500 and Rs 80500 for 16GB, 64GB and 128GB, in that order.
